Google Merchant Center holds the data that decides whether your products show up in Shopping and how they perform once they do. The problem is getting a clear read on it. Native reporting is slow to load, the views are rigid, and the moment you want to slice feed health against product performance you are stuck exporting CSVs and rebuilding the same pivot table for the hundredth time.

The data is also siloed. Your disapproved products live in one screen, your clicks and impressions in another, and your pricing signals somewhere else again. There is no single place to see feed problems next to the products that are actually driving traffic, so small issues quietly cost you sales before anyone notices.

What most marketers really want is simpler: to just ask a question in plain language and get an answer back. “Which products are disapproved right now?” “What is getting impressions but no clicks?” The fix is connecting Google Merchant Center to Microsoft Copilot with Windsor.ai.

Start for free with Windsor.ai. Free forever plan, no credit card. Connect Google Merchant Center in a couple of minutes and start asking Copilot about your product feed and Shopping performance.

Before you start

You need three things in place before you connect:

  • A Google Merchant Center account with real product and Shopping data in it, so there is something for Copilot to read and analyze.
  • A Windsor.ai account. It is free forever with no credit card, so you can set this up before deciding on anything paid.
  • Access to Microsoft Copilot Studio, where you will add Windsor as a tool for your agent.

Connect Google Merchant Center to Copilot with Windsor.ai

The whole setup is read-only. Windsor.ai reads your Google Merchant Center data and makes it available to Copilot for reporting and analysis. It never changes, pushes, or syncs anything back to Google Merchant Center. Follow these four steps.

  1. Connect the data source in Windsor.ai. Go to onboard.windsor.ai/app/google_merchant, sign in, and authorize Google Merchant Center. Pick the account or accounts you want to report on, then click Next.
  2. Add Windsor MCP as a tool in Copilot Studio. In Microsoft Copilot Studio, create a new agent. Click + Add tool, then + New tool, then Model Context Protocol. Fill in the details:
    • Server Name: Windsor MCP
    • Server URL: https://mcp.windsor.ai
    • Authentication: API Key
    • Header name: Authorization

Click Create, then Add and configure.

  3. Create a new connection. Under “Not connected”, choose Create new connection, then enter your Windsor API key with the Bearer prefix in front of it, for example: Bearer YOUR_WINDSOR_API_KEY. Use your own key from your Windsor.ai account in place of the placeholder.
  4. Start querying. Open a new chat. Copilot will ask you to connect to Windsor MCP through the Connections manager. Click Connect, then Submit. Return to the chat, click Retry, and then ask about your data.

The Google Merchant Center metrics that matter

Once you are connected, Copilot can read and analyze these Google Merchant Center fields. These are the ones worth watching for feed health, product performance, and price competitiveness.

Metric What it tells you
Disapproved Product Count How many products are currently blocked from showing in Shopping, so you know how much of your catalog is losing visibility right now.
Expiring Product Count How many products are about to drop out of your feed, so you can act before they disappear.
Pending Product Count How many products are still in review and not yet live, useful right after you add new items to your catalog.
Active Product Count How many products are approved and eligible to show, your baseline for a healthy feed.
Product Impressions How often your products are being shown, a read on catalog visibility.
Product Clicks How often shoppers click through, the demand signal for each product.
Product Conversions Which products turn views and clicks into sales, so you can see what is actually working.
Product Benchmark Price How your Product Price and Product Sale Price compare to the market benchmark, so you can spot where you are priced out of the running.

You can also slice these by dimensions like Product Status Country and Product Status Reporting Context to see where feed issues and performance differ across markets and surfaces.

What to ask Copilot: prompt ideas

Copy and paste any of these into your Copilot chat once the connection is live. Each one is a plain-language question, and Copilot reads your Google Merchant Center data to answer it.

List my disapproved and expiring products, then show the products with the most impressions but zero clicks in the last 30 days.
Show my Pending Product Count and Active Product Count by Product Status Country, and flag any country where more than 10 percent of products are disapproved or expiring.
Compare my Product Price and Product Sale Price against Product Benchmark Price, and list the products priced well above the benchmark that still get high Product Impressions.

Bonus: analyze Google Merchant Center alongside your full stack

Because Windsor.ai connects far more than Google Merchant Center, Copilot can read across several sources at once and give you blended reporting from a single source of truth. Everything below is read-only analysis, nothing is changed on any platform.

  • Feed health next to ad spend. Blend Google Merchant Center with Google Ads so Copilot can show whether your Shopping campaigns are spending on products that are actually approved and active, and where disapproved products are quietly wasting budget.
  • Shopping clicks next to on-site behavior. Combine Google Merchant Center Product Clicks with GA4 sessions and conversions to see how feed performance carries through to what shoppers do on your site.
  • Cross-channel ROAS view. Pull Google Merchant Center in with your paid channels so Copilot can report product-level performance and ROAS side by side, giving you one cross-channel picture instead of six separate tabs.

Conclusion

Connecting Google Merchant Center to Microsoft Copilot with Windsor.ai turns a slow, siloed reporting job into a plain-language conversation. You catch feed problems faster, see which products earn their impressions, and check price competitiveness without a single CSV export, all read-only and always current.

FAQs

Is connecting Google Merchant Center to Copilot really no-code?

Yes. You authorize Google Merchant Center in Windsor.ai, add Windsor MCP as a tool in Microsoft Copilot Studio, and enter one API key. There is no scripting or engineering work involved, and the connection only reads and analyzes your data, so nothing is ever changed in Google Merchant Center.
