To connect Google Ads to Gemini Enterprise, connect your Google Ads account to Windsor.ai, then add Windsor.ai as a data store in the Gemini Enterprise console and authorize it. Gemini can then answer questions about your campaigns, keywords and search terms. If you turn on write actions, it can also pause campaigns, change budgets or add negative keywords, and it asks you to confirm each change before it runs.
This guide covers Gemini Enterprise, the edition a company sets up in Google Cloud. If you use the Gemini app with a personal Google account, Google’s own Google Ads app inside Gemini may be enough for quick questions about one account.
Get started with Windsor.ai: free forever plan, no credit card. onboard.windsor.ai/app/google_ads
Before you start
- Gemini Enterprise Standard, Plus, Frontline or Pay-as-you-go. These editions are set up in the Google Cloud console. The Business edition has its own setup and a smaller choice of connectors.
- A Google Cloud project that belongs to your organization (Google Workspace or Cloud Identity), with billing turned on and Gemini Enterprise activated. A project created with a personal Gmail account cannot configure the access control the data store needs.
- The Discovery Engine Editor role on that project for the person who creates the data store.
- A Windsor.ai account. The free forever plan covers one data source, which is enough for Google Ads on its own. Asking about Google Ads next to GA4 or Meta Ads needs a paid plan after the first 30 days, from $19 a month (billed annually) for 3 sources or $99 a month for 7. See Windsor.ai pricing.
Google bills Gemini Enterprise and the data store to your Google Cloud billing account, separately from your Windsor.ai plan.
Step 1: Connect Google Ads to Windsor.ai
- Open onboard.windsor.ai/app/google_ads and sign in with the Google account that has access to your Google Ads accounts.
- Select the accounts Gemini should be able to query. If you manage clients from a manager account, select each client account you want in the answers.
- You can skip the destination step. Gemini Enterprise reads the data through the data store you create next.
Step 2: Add Windsor.ai to Gemini Enterprise
The Windsor.ai data store is in public preview under Google’s Pre-GA terms. These are the main actions; our full Gemini Enterprise setup guide has every screen and the error messages you might see.
- In the Google Cloud console, open Gemini Enterprise, then Data stores, and click Create data store. Under Third-party data sources, choose Windsor.ai.
- Under Entities to search, select Connectors.
- On the Actions step, select Execute Action if you want Gemini to make changes in Google Ads. Reading data works without it.
- Choose the location: global (Google’s recommendation), us or eu. You cannot change it later, and your Gemini Enterprise app has to use the same one. If the console asks you to configure access control, choose Google Identity unless your company signs in through Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Keep General pricing, click Create, and wait until the data store shows Active.
- Open your Gemini Enterprise app (or create one in the same location), go to Connected data stores, click Add existing data stores and select the Windsor.ai data store.
- Open the app’s web URL. Click the puzzle piece icon below the Ask Gemini Enterprise box, click Authorize next to Windsor.ai, then Allow Access, and sign in to Windsor.ai. To let Gemini make changes, turn on Write actions on the Windsor.ai screen. This applies to your Windsor.ai user only.

Until you authorize, questions to this data store return no results. After authorizing, check that the Windsor.ai toggle under the puzzle piece icon is on.
Step 3: Check the connection with one question
Ask Gemini a question you can check in Google Ads:
Show my Google Ads spend, clicks and conversions by campaign for the last 7 full days, leaving out today.
Compare the totals with the Google Ads interface for the same dates. Today is left out because Google Ads keeps updating the current day. If the numbers match, the connection works.

Google Ads data Gemini can read
Gemini can ask for any field the Windsor.ai Google Ads connector supports. These are the ones most questions use:
| Area | Fields |
|---|---|
| Structure | campaign, campaign_type, campaign_status, ad_group_name, ad_group_status, keyword_text, keyword_match_type, final_url |
| Delivery | impressions, clicks, ctr, cpc, cost (also available as spend) |
| Results | conversions, conversion_value, all_conversions, cost_per_conversion, conversion_action_name |
| Search terms | search_term |
| Auction | search_impression_share, search_budget_lost_impression_share, search_rank_lost_impression_share, quality_score |
| Time and device | date, day_of_week, hour_of_day, device |
Impression share values come back as fractions (0.45 means 45%), and Google reports anything under 10% as 0.0999. Ask Gemini to show them as percentages.
Prompts for Google Ads in Gemini Enterprise
Search terms that spend without converting
List search terms from the last 30 days with more than $50 spend and no conversions, grouped by campaign, with the keyword that matched each one.
Budget or rank?
For each Search campaign in the last 14 days, show search impression share, the share lost to budget and the share lost to rank. Flag campaigns that lose more than 20% to budget while their cost per conversion is below the account average.
A campaign that loses share to budget at a good cost per conversion is a candidate for more budget. One that loses share to rank needs better ads or bids first.
Device and hour split
Break down conversions and cost per conversion by device and hour of day for the last 30 days. Which hours on mobile cost more than twice the account average per conversion?
Conversion actions
Show conversions by conversion_action_name for each campaign this month. Which campaigns count mostly secondary actions such as page views?
Quality score
List keywords with a quality score of 4 or lower that spent more than $100 in the last 30 days.
The Windsor.ai prompt library has more questions by data source.
Changes Gemini can make in Google Ads
With Execute Action enabled on the data store and Write actions turned on in Windsor.ai, Gemini can run the Google Ads write actions Windsor.ai supports. Gemini shows each request and asks you to confirm it before it runs. The main ones are:
- pause or enable campaigns, ad groups and ads
- set a campaign’s daily or total budget
- switch a campaign’s bidding strategy, and set target CPA, target ROAS, a max CPC on an ad group or a CPC bid ceiling
- add or remove keywords and negative keywords
- create Search or Display campaigns, ad groups and responsive search ads, which are created paused so nothing serves until you enable it
- set geo, language and ad schedule targeting
- create, upload, attach and delete Customer Match lists
Read a request to delete a Customer Match list carefully before you confirm it: the deletion cannot be undone. The full list, with parameters, is on Windsor.ai write actions.
A typical request after the search terms prompt above:
Add the five search terms from that list with no conversions as exact match negative keywords on the campaign where they spent the most.
Google Ads next to GA4 and Meta Ads
One question can cover several of the sources you have connected in Windsor.ai, through the same data store:
- Google Ads and GA4: Compare Google Ads conversions by campaign with GA4 key events from sessions where the source / medium is google / cpc, last 30 days. Differences usually come from counting rules: Google Ads reports a conversion on the date of the click, GA4 on the date the conversion happened.
- Google Ads and Meta Ads: Show spend, conversions and cost per conversion for Google Ads and Meta Ads side by side by week for the last 8 weeks. Eight weeks of history needs a paid plan; the free forever plan returns the last 30 days.
- Google Ads and Search Console: For our top 20 paid search terms, show the organic position and clicks from Search Console for the same queries.
Each extra source counts toward your Windsor.ai plan’s source limit.
Other ways to get Google Ads data into Gemini
| Route | Where it works | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Windsor.ai data store | Gemini Enterprise | Reads Google Ads and your other connected sources; makes changes after you confirm |
| Google Ads app in Gemini | Gemini app with a personal Google account, English, where Google Ads and Gemini are available | Answers about your linked Google Ads account and gives advice. Not available with work or school accounts |
| Ask Advisor in Google Ads | Inside the Google Ads interface (beta) | Gemini-powered assistant for performance, policy and creative questions in that account |
| Google Ads MCP server | MCP clients you run, locally or on Cloud Run | Google’s open-source server. Read-only; it cannot change bids, pause campaigns or create assets |
The Gemini app route is the quickest for one person with a personal account. Gemini Enterprise suits a team that works in Google Cloud, needs Google Ads next to other sources, or wants Gemini to make changes. Troubleshooting
Google keeps asking for a passkey, or says “No passkeys available”
Google began requiring passkeys for some Google Ads API sign-ins on 5 August 2026, and for those accounts SMS codes and authenticator apps are not accepted. Create a passkey at g.co/passkeys, then open the connect link from Step 1 again. Google warns that a new passkey can take up to 7 days to become trusted (Google Ads API passkey requirements).
A Google Ads account or client account is missing from the list
Google checks your access when you authorize, and accounts shared with you afterwards do not appear until you connect again. In Windsor.ai, unselect all Google Ads accounts, reconnect with a Google account that can open the missing account, and select it. If you sign in through a manager (MCC) account, the manager needs access to each client account first (Windsor.ai Google Ads setup guide).
Reading works, but a change fails with a permission error
Changes in Google Ads need Standard or Admin access. Read-only users can view campaigns and run reports but cannot edit them (Google Ads access levels). Ask an admin of the account to raise your access level, then reconnect Google Ads in Windsor.ai to pick up the new access.
Conversions for recent days are lower than Google Ads shows later
In the Conversions column, Google Ads records each conversion on the date of the ad click, and reporting can lag 24 to 48 hours (Google Ads conversion data). A conversion that comes days after the click is added to an earlier date. Compare days that are at least two days old, or ask Gemini for conversions_by_conversion_date, which counts each conversion on the day it happened.
Gemini answers without your Google Ads data after you authorized
Data can take about 10 minutes to appear after the data store is connected to the app. Wait, refresh the web app, and confirm that the data store status is Active, the Windsor.ai toggle is on and Google Ads shows as connected in Windsor.ai (full Gemini Enterprise setup guide).
Conclusion
Once Windsor.ai is a data store in your Gemini Enterprise app, Google Ads questions go to the live account data. Start with the 7-day spend check, then the search terms and impression share prompts. Turn on write actions only when you want Gemini to act on the answers.
Next steps:
- Set up the data store with the full Gemini Enterprise guide.
- See every source Gemini Enterprise can reach on the Gemini Enterprise integrations page.
- Using Claude or ChatGPT as well? Read how to connect Google Ads to Claude or how to connect Google Ads to ChatGPT.
- Add GA4 to Gemini for landing page and channel data next to your ad spend.

FAQs
Can Gemini change my Google Ads campaigns?
Yes, in Gemini Enterprise through Windsor.ai. Enable Execute Action on the data store and turn on Write actions in Windsor.ai. Gemini then shows each change, such as a paused campaign or a new budget, and asks you to confirm it before it runs. New campaigns, ad groups and ads are created paused.
Do I need a Google Ads developer token?
No. Windsor.ai connects to the Google Ads API for you. In Step 1 you only sign in with your Google account. A developer token or Cloud project setup applies to running Google’s own Google Ads MCP server.
Does this work with a personal Gmail account?
No. Gemini Enterprise needs a Google Cloud project that belongs to a Google Workspace or Cloud Identity organization. With a personal account, use the Google Ads app inside the Gemini app instead.
Does Gemini Enterprise store my Google Ads data?
No. Your Google Ads data is not indexed or stored in Gemini Enterprise. Each question is sent to Windsor.ai, which reads Google Ads at that moment and returns the answer. Google’s model may rewrite your question before sending it, and the rewrite can include parts of earlier questions in the same session.
Is this the same as advertising in Gemini?
No. This guide is about reading and managing your Google Ads data with Gemini. Ads in AI Overviews come from your existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns, with no separate setup, as Google explains in its help article on ads and AI Overviews.
How much does it cost?
Windsor.ai has a free forever plan for one data source, with no credit card. Paid plans start at $19 a month (billed annually) for 3 sources. Gemini Enterprise licences and the data store are billed by Google separately.
