Analyzing your LinkedIn Ads data tells you what’s underperforming. Acting on it is where the time actually gets saved. Once LinkedIn Ads is connected to Windsor.ai (see: How to Connect LinkedIn Ads to ChatGPT, or the Claude version), Windsor’s write actions let ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot make real, live changes to your account, not just report on it.
Is this automatic, or only when I ask?
Worth being direct about this, since it’s the one thing competing tools tend to leave vague: write actions are prompt-triggered, not autonomous monitoring. Whichever assistant you use, it doesn’t watch your account in the background and act on its own, there’s no “pause this campaign the moment CPL doubles overnight” running unattended.
It runs the action you ask for, when you ask for it, in that conversation. If you want an early-warning check, ask for it explicitly (for example, at the start of each session) rather than assuming it’s being monitored continuously.
What you can do with your LinkedIn Ads account
LinkedIn Ads supports 8 write actions through Windsor, covering campaign groups, campaigns, and creatives. Here’s the full list:
| What you can ask for | Level | Reversible? |
|---|---|---|
| Enable a campaign group | Campaign group | Yes |
| Pause a campaign group | Campaign group | Yes |
| Set a campaign group budget (total) | Campaign group | Yes |
| Enable a campaign | Campaign | Yes |
| Pause a campaign | Campaign | Yes |
| Set a campaign budget (daily or total) | Campaign | Yes |
| Enable a creative | Creative | Yes |
| Pause a creative | Creative | Yes |
For the exact parameters each action takes, see the full write actions reference, kept live and up to date from the API, or LinkedIn Ads’ action list specifically at connectors.windsor.ai/linkedin/actions.
LinkedIn Ads write actions don’t yet cover creating new campaigns, campaign groups, or creatives, or editing an existing creative’s copy or image. Everything in the table above is status and budget control on what you’ve already built.
Pause underperforming campaigns
Pause every campaign that spent more than $500 in the last 7 days with
zero conversions. Show me spend, clicks, and conversions for each one
first, then wait for my confirmation before pausing anything.
Shift budget toward your best-performing campaign
Compare CPL across all active campaigns for the last 30 days.
Decrease the daily budget on my worst-performing campaign by 30%, and
increase my best-performing one by the same amount. Confirm the exact
before/after budget for both before making the change.
Pause a creative that’s hit fatigue
Show me frequency and CTR for the last 7 days vs. the 7 days before for
all active creatives.
Pause any creative where frequency is rising and CTR is falling.
⚠️ Confirm before you commit. Status and budget changes take effect the moment the change runs. Unlike a paused new campaign, there’s no built-in “undo” on a budget cut beyond setting it back yourself, so your assistant always shows you the exact before/after numbers first.
Turn a campaign group budget into daily campaign budgets
My campaign group "Q3 ABM Push" has a total budget of $12,000 over 60
days. Split that evenly across its 3 active campaigns as daily budgets,
and show me the math before you apply it.
Turn a campaign back on
Turn the campaign "Q4 Enterprise ABM" back on, and set its daily
budget to $200.
Pause an entire campaign group
Pause the entire "Q3 ABM Push" campaign group, everything under it,
ahead of the holiday shutdown. Confirm exactly what's being paused
before you do it.
FAQs
Does it monitor my campaigns and act automatically?
No, in any of the three. Write actions are prompt-triggered: your assistant acts when you ask it to, in that conversation. It doesn’t run in the background or act on its own without you asking, so it won’t catch a problem between sessions unless you ask it to check.
Will it change my budget or pause a campaign without me approving it first?
No. Whichever assistant you’re using, it always confirms the exact change, the specific campaign, creative, or budget amount, before running it.
Do I need to write code or set up an MCP server myself?
No. Write actions work directly through Windsor’s native app or connector in ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot, the same connection you use for reading data. No manual setup, no developer mode, no extra steps.
Can it create new LinkedIn campaigns or creatives?
Not yet, in any of the three. Today’s write actions cover status (enable/pause) and budget on campaign groups, campaigns, and creatives you’ve already built, not creating new ones.
Are Windsor's write actions reversible?
Status changes (enable/pause) can be reversed anytime. Budget changes can be set back to their previous amount, but there’s no automatic undo, your assistant shows you the before/after numbers so you can reverse it manually if needed.
Is there any difference in what I can do between ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot?
No. All three connect through the same free Windsor MCP server and get the same read and write capabilities for LinkedIn Ads. The only difference is the one-time connection step, which follows each assistant’s own native app or connector flow.
