What you can ask Claude about your GA4 data
Once GA4 is connected, Claude picks the GA4 fields, runs the report and explains the result in the same chat. Four common questions:
Traffic by channel and landing page
Ask which channels and landing pages changed this month and why. Claude reads sessions, engagement_rate and conversions (GA4 key events) by session_default_channel_group and landing_page, next to the previous period.
Before and after a page change
Give Claude the page and the date you changed it, and it compares the weeks before and after: sessions, engagement rate, average_engagement_time_per_session and key events, with the session count next to every rate so small samples stand out.
GA4 next to Search Console and ad spend
Add Search Console or Google Ads and Meta Ads in Windsor.ai and ask about them together: clicks per page against GA4 sessions, or ad spend against GA4 key events per campaign. Ask Claude to check first that the ad conversions and the GA4 key events count the same actions.
Find where a funnel loses people
Claude counts your funnel events with event_name and event_count, for example from view_item to purchase, then splits the biggest drop by country, source or landing page to show where it happens.
Using Windsor.ai to connect data from GA4 to Claude
The Windsor.ai connector gives Claude 482 GA4 fields across every property your Google account can view, from traffic and engagement to e-commerce and key events. It is listed in Claude’s directory and works on every Claude plan, including Free, in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Claude Code.
GA4 access through Windsor.ai is read-only: Claude reports on the property and cannot change its settings (see the write actions documentation). GA4 takes 24 to 48 hours to finish processing a day, and Windsor.ai caches the result of an identical query for up to 6 hours. For newer numbers within that window, use Clear Cache in Windsor.ai’s Data Preview.

Is there an official Google Analytics connector for Claude?
No. On 30 October 2026, Claude’s directory had no connector from Google for Google Analytics; Google’s own listings there are Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, BigQuery and Compute Engine. GA4 reaches Claude in one of three ways:
- Windsor.ai connector: 2 steps and no code, from Claude’s connector list, with GA4 next to 350+ other sources in the same chat.
- Google’s Analytics MCP server: open source and labelled experimental. Its documented setup runs on your computer for Claude Desktop and Claude Code, with a Google Cloud project, an OAuth client and Python. The Google Analytics MCP guide has every step.
- CSV export: download one report from GA4 and upload it to a chat. The data stops at the day you exported it.
The setup for each route, with prompts and the checks we run before acting on a number, is in how to connect GA4 to Claude.
What an answer looks like
We asked Claude, through the Windsor.ai connector, to compare Google organic sessions across windsor.ai and its sign-up subdomain on our own GA4 property (1 October 2026). Before giving the totals, it flagged a trap in the question:

Part of Claude’s answer. A session that starts on windsor.ai and continues on onboard.windsor.ai counts under both hosts, so adding hostname to the query raised the session total by about a third.
FAQs
Can Claude change my GA4 settings?
No. GA4 access through Windsor.ai is read-only, as listed in the write actions documentation. Claude can report on the property but cannot change events, key events, audiences or settings.
Which GA4 metrics and dimensions are available?
482 GA4 fields, including sessions, active_users, engagement_rate, average_engagement_time_per_session, conversions (key events), purchase_revenue, ecommerce_purchases, session_default_channel_group, session_source_medium, landing_page, hostname, event_name and country. The full list with descriptions is in the GA4 field reference.
How current is the GA4 data in Claude?
As current as GA4 itself, give or take the cache. GA4 takes 24 to 48 hours to finish processing a day, and today’s figures are always partial. Windsor.ai caches the result of an identical query for up to 6 hours; Clear Cache in Data Preview (once every 2 hours) fetches it again.
Is it free to connect GA4 to Claude?
Yes, to start. Windsor.ai’s free forever plan (no credit card) covers 1 data source and 1 account with the last 30 days of data, and the connector works on every Claude plan, including Free. GA4 next to Search Console or ad platforms, or longer history, needs a paid plan from $19 a month (annual billing, 3 sources); see pricing.
What do I need before I connect GA4?
A Google account with at least Viewer access to the GA4 property, a Claude account on any plan and a Windsor.ai account. No Google Cloud project, API key or code is needed.
Can I analyze several GA4 properties at once?
Yes. Select every property you want when you connect GA4 to Windsor.ai, then ask Claude to compare them, for example sessions and key events per property this month. Each property counts as one account on your Windsor.ai plan.
Can Claude compare my GA4 data against Google Ads or Meta Ads spend?
Yes, with each source connected in Windsor.ai. Claude can put ad spend next to GA4 sessions and key events per campaign. The two rarely match exactly: GA4 counts its own key events with its own attribution, so check that both count the same actions before reading a gap as lost conversions.
Can I use GA4 data in Claude Code?
Yes. Install the Windsor.ai plugin with claude plugin install windsor-ai and sign in to Windsor.ai. Claude Code then has the same GA4 data next to the files you are working on, and can save results as files.
Can Claude read my old Universal Analytics data?
No. Universal Analytics stopped processing data in July 2023 (July 2024 for Analytics 360), and Google has since deleted UA properties and their data. Only GA4 properties can be connected.
Where can I find a step-by-step guide?
The full setup for the Windsor.ai connector, Google’s server and CSV uploads is in how to connect GA4 to Claude, with prompts and the checks to run before acting on a number. If your company uses Gemini Enterprise, see how to connect GA4 to Gemini Enterprise.
