Troubleshooting Guide for Deprecating Metrics For Facebook Organic Connector (June 15, 2026)
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Applies to: All Windsor.ai customers using the Facebook Page (Organic) connector.
Facebook (Meta) regularly updates its Graph API. As announced in the Graph API v25.0 release change logs, several metrics used for Facebook Page Insights are being deprecated globally and will stop returning data for all previous versions of the API. This change is initiated by Meta, not Windsor.ai.
Effective date: Meta has announced that the metrics listed below will be deprecated starting June 15, 2026.
This guide helps you understand what is changing, which metrics are affected, and what you can do to keep your reports running smoothly.
What is changing?
Meta is simplifying its insights data model. The following types of metric categories are being removed entirely.
| Metric Category | Deprecated Breakdowns |
|---|---|
| Page Reach | Unique, Paid, Viral, Non‑viral |
| Page Posts Impressions | Total, Unique, Paid, Unique Paid, Organic Unique, Served Organic Unique, Viral, Unique Viral, Non-viral, Unique Non-viral |
| Page Video Views | Unique |
| Post Reach | Unique, Unique Paid, Unique Fan, Unique Organic, Unique Viral, Unique Non-viral |
| Post Video Views | Unique Organic, Unique Paid, Unique Total |
| Video Impressions | Total, Unique, Paid, Unique Paid, Organic, Unique Organic, Viral, Unique Viral, Fan, Unique Fan, Fan Paid, Unique Fan Paid |
| Video Views | Unique Organic, Unique Paid, Unique Total |
| Story Impressions | Total, Unique |
For the official Meta announcement and to see the full list of deprecated metrics, see:
If you use any of these metrics in your Windsor.ai dashboards or reports, they will stop returning data after the deprecation date.
Note: Meta’s own documentation is not fully consistent. Some metrics, particularly video-related ones, are listed as deprecated in the Meta v25 release blog post but do not appear in Meta’s deprecated metrics page. Because of this discrepancy, we won’t know the exact final behaviour until Meta rolls out the change on June 15, 2026. Windsor.ai field reference guide Facebook Page (Organic) Connector Field Reference page will be automatically updated as soon as we can confirm what actually changes.
What replaces the deprecated metrics?
Meta is introducing a new Page Viewer metric as the primary replacement for legacy reach metrics. This metric provides consistent cross-platform measurement across Facebook and Instagram, reflecting how many people saw a piece of content. It will be accessible via page and story insights endpoints.
However, for metrics like unique video views, Meta suggests alternatives such as page_total_media_view_unique (total unique views), but these alternatives do not provide the same paid/organic breakdowns that many customers currently use.
In short, you can get total unique viewers, but you will no longer be able to separate paid vs. organic reach for most metrics.
What this means for your Windsor.ai reports?
- Deprecated metrics will not be available to use for our Facebook Page (Organic) connector.
- Existing destination tasks or queries will not be able to get data for these metrics.
- Every Facebook API user (including all BI tools) will see the same change.
Our Facebook Page Organic (Meta) Field Reference currently shows the existing metrics because the changes are not yet effective (Meta’s deprecation begins June 15, 2026).
Once Meta finalises the changes and the API behaviour is confirmed, the Field Reference page will reflect exactly which metrics are still available with their status. We recommend checking back after the effective date or using this troubleshooting guide as your primary reference until then.
Recommended actions
We recommend reviewing your dashboards now to identify any reports using the deprecated metrics listed above. The deprecated metrics will remain usable in Windsor.ai until Meta’s changes go live on June 15, 2026. If possible, plan your replacements in advance so you are ready to update your reports as soon as the change takes effect.
- Review your current dashboards now, identify any reports that use the deprecated metrics listed above before June 15, 2026.
- Plan your replacements in advance. There is no one-to-one replacement for unique/viral/reach numbers that preserves paid/organic breakdowns. Consider the following alternatives:
- Use page_total_media_view_unique or post_total_media_view_unique for total unique views (still no breakdown).
- It’s better to remove the metric entirely if no alternative fits your analysis.
- Check our Field Reference page Facebook Page Insights (Meta) Field Reference and where necessary, consider replacing the removed metrics with other metrics available.
FAQs
Is there any way to keep getting paid/organic reach breakdowns after June 15?
No, Meta has removed those breakdowns entirely. The only alternative available is page_total_media_view_unique, which provides total unique views without a paid/organic split. It is not a direct replacement for the deprecated metrics, but it may partially cover your needs depending on your reporting goals.
How do I find which of my Windsor.ai reports are using deprecated metrics?
Go through each of your dashboards and destinations in Windsor.ai and check the metrics being used against the deprecated metrics table above. Look for any field names that match the API Metric Names listed in the table. If you are unsure, contact our support team, and we can help you identify affected reports.
Does this affect Facebook Ads metrics?
No. This deprecation only applies to Facebook Page Organic (Meta). Facebook Ads (paid campaigns) are not affected.
What happens to my historical data for deprecated metrics after June 15?
Once Meta deprecates these metrics, no new data will be returned for them. However, any historical data you have already collected and stored before June 15, 2026, should remain intact. New syncs after June 15 will simply stop returning data for those fields.
Will my scheduled reports or data exports be affected?
Yes. If any of your scheduled reports or automated data exports include deprecated metrics, they will start returning errors or empty values after June 15, 2026. We recommend reviewing your scheduled reports now and updating them before the deadline to avoid disruption.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.
