Analyzing your Facebook Ads data is useful. Acting on it is where the time savings actually show up. Once Facebook Ads is connected to ChatGPT (see: How to Connect Facebook Ads to ChatGPT), Windsor’s write actions let ChatGPT make real, live changes to your campaigns, not just report on them.
What ChatGPT can do with your Facebook Ads account
16 write actions are available today, grouped into five categories:
- turning things on/off (enable/pause campaign, ad set, ad)
- budget (set campaign or ad set budget)
- creating new items (campaign, ad set, ad, all paused by default)
- boosting an organic post into a paid ad
- general updates (campaign/ad set/ad field edits, plus the Messenger welcome message on Click-to-Message ads).
For the exact parameters each action takes and current coverage across all 5 ad platforms Windsor supports (not just Meta), see the full write actions reference, kept live and up to date from the API.
Meta Ads has no equivalent to Google’s campaign-level bidding strategy, CPC bid ceiling, target CPA, or negative keyword actions yet. Bid strategy can still be changed at the ad set level.
Create a campaign from a chat
Look at my top 5 Facebook Ads by CTR from the last 30 days.
Identify the common hook or theme in their headlines.
Then create a new campaign called "Top Hook - Retargeting".
Objective: traffic. Daily budget: $40.
Create one ad set for that campaign.
Write three ad copy variations using that same hook.
Leave the campaign paused. I want to review it before it runs.
⚠️ Nothing spends by accident. Every creation action is paused by default. The campaign, ad set, ad, or boosted post sits there until you explicitly enable it.
Pause underperforming ad sets
Pause every ad set that spent more than $200 in the last 7 days with
zero conversions. Show me spend, impressions, and conversions for
each one first, then wait for my confirmation before pausing anything.
Reallocate budget toward your best performers
Compare cost per result across my ad sets for the last 30 days.
Increase the daily budget of the best-performing ad set by 20%, and
decrease the two worst by the same amount. Confirm each change back
to me before applying it.
Boost a winning organic post into a paid ad
Look at my Facebook Page's organic posts from the last 30 days and
find the one with the highest engagement rate. Create a new
engagement campaign, add an ad set with a $25 daily budget for
7 days, and boost that post into it. Leave it paused until I
review and approve.
Update your Page’s Messenger welcome message
This one is easy to miss since it’s not budget or status-related, but it’s a real, distinct action: the automated greeting people see when they message your Page from a Click-to-Message ad.
Update the Messenger welcome message on my Click-to-Message ad
[ad name or ID] to: "Thanks for reaching out! Reply with your
email and we'll send you 15% off your first order."

FAQs
Will ChatGPT spend money without me approving it first?
No. Every campaign, ad set, or ad ChatGPT creates is paused by default. Nothing runs or spends until you explicitly enable it.
Do I need to write code or set up an MCP server to use write actions?
No. Write actions work directly through the native Windsor.ai app in ChatGPT, no manual setup, no custom connector, no self-hosted server.
Are Windsor's write actions reversible?
Status changes (enable/pause) and budget changes can be undone anytime. Creating a new campaign, ad set, ad, or boost can’t be undone directly, which is why everything is created paused, you can always pause a new creation immediately instead.
What can't ChatGPT do yet with my Facebook Ads?
Campaign-level bidding strategy, CPC bid ceiling, target CPA, and negative keyword actions aren’t supported yet (these exist on Google Ads). Bid strategy can still be set at the ad set level.
Can ChatGPT update my Page's Messenger welcome message?
Yes, this is a distinct write action from campaign management, useful for Click-to-Message ad campaigns specifically.
Does this work in Claude as well as ChatGPT?
Yes, write actions run through the free Windsor MCP server, which works the same way across ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and other MCP-compatible tools. Here is how to connect Facebook ads to Claude with Windsor.
