Running e-commerce reporting means working with numbers that explain how the store is doing but live in different tools: orders and revenue in Shopify or another cart, ad spend in Meta Ads, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, on-site behavior in GA4. None of these tools share data with each other, so answering “which channel drove profitable orders this week” means pulling from each one separately and combining it by hand.
At Wilgot, every client I worked with runs a store, and the same question comes up in almost every one of them: Shopify shows what sold, but not what it cost to get that sale. Someone ends up pulling spend from Meta Ads and Google Ads and matching it to Shopify orders by hand, and by the following week it needs doing again.
SEO is what I do at Wilgot, not the store or ad side. But since every client there is an e-commerce brand, I end up in Shopify, ad accounts and GA4 constantly just to understand what’s happening around the search work.
I connected Shopify, our ad accounts and GA4 to Claude once. Now instead of pulling the numbers myself, I just ask Claude (same thing works in ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity).

If you already have Claude open, you can skip ahead and add the Windsor.ai for E-commerce connector straight from the Claude directory, on ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity, Windsor installs the same way from that assistant’s own connector or app directory. This isn’t Shopify’s own ChatGPT shopping feature, which lets customers buy inside ChatGPT. What’s below is about analyzing your store’s performance from AI, not selling through it.
Connecting your e-commerce data to your AI assistant with Windsor: 2 steps
Windsor.ai is a single connector that reads from 350+ data sources, including Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Google Merchant Center, GA4 and every major ad platform, and sends it wherever you work. Setup is two steps: connect your sources in Windsor, then add Windsor to your assistant.
Before you start
- A Shopify or Amazon Seller Central account (WooCommerce and BigCommerce also supported)
- A Windsor.ai account (free for the first 30 days to test; paid plans start at $19/month for 3 sources, $99/month for 7)
- A Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity account
Step 1: Connect your store and ad accounts to Windsor
Go to onboard.windsor.ai/app/shopify and sign in to authorize your store. Then add the accounts that give you the full picture:
- Meta Ads and Google Ads, for what you spent to get each sale
- Google Merchant Center, if you run Shopping campaigns
- GA4, for on-site behavior before checkout
- Amazon Seller Central, if you sell there too
The free plan lets you test multiple sources for the first 30 days, then drops to a single source with no credit card required. Keeping every account connected long-term takes a paid plan: $19/month for 3 sources, $99/month for 7, so you’re not stuck re-connecting or losing history as the store grows.
Step 2: Add Windsor to your AI assistant
- Claude: Customize → Connectors → search Windsor → Add
- ChatGPT: install Windsor’s native app from the ChatGPT apps directory
- Gemini and Perplexity: add Windsor from that assistant’s own connector or app directory
Sign in to your Windsor.ai account when prompted, then confirm it works with a simple question: “how many orders did we get last week.”
The numbers I track once it’s connected
| Metric | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Orders and revenue (Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) | What sold |
| Ad spend by platform | What it cost to sell it |
| ROAS / blended ROAS | Revenue divided by total ad spend, per channel or across every connected platform combined |
| Gross margin | Revenue minus cost of goods, before marketing cost |
| Sessions and add-to-cart rate (GA4) | Where shoppers drop off before buying |
| Marketplace sales (Amazon Seller Central) | Revenue outside your own store |
| Refunds and cancellations | How much of that revenue holds |
The reports e-commerce teams run most
These come straight from how e-commerce teams use Windsor day to day, not a hypothetical list:
Orders and revenue
- How many orders did we get this week, and what was our total revenue?
- Which products had the highest net sales and units sold this week?
- Flag any week where revenue or ad spend moved outside its normal range.
Customers and channels
- How many of this week’s orders came from new customers versus returning customers?
- Which traffic source drove the most orders and revenue last week?
- Compare our Shopify order revenue to what we spent on Meta Ads and Google Ads this month.
Bonus: analyze e-commerce alongside your full stack
Because Windsor connects 350+ sources through the same install, I go past store performance too. I’ll ask things like:
- “Did the Google Merchant Center campaign we launched last month increase Shopify orders?”
- “Compare GA4 sessions to Shopify conversion rate by traffic source.”
- “Which ad campaign has the best cost per order?”
Conclusion
Store, ad and marketplace data don’t need to live in four separate exports. I connected them to Windsor once, added Windsor to Claude, and now I ask for the answer in a sentence instead of rebuilding a spreadsheet.

FAQs
Does Windsor.ai place orders or change my store?
No, for Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce, Windsor reads and analyzes your store data. It doesn’t create or modify orders, products or listings. (Amazon Seller Central is the exception: Windsor supports product-listing update actions there, separate from order data.)
Can I connect more than one sales channel?
Yes. Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, WooCommerce and BigCommerce can all be connected at once, alongside your ad accounts and GA4, so one conversation can cross all of them.
Which e-commerce metrics can I ask about?
Orders, revenue, refunds and product-level sales from your store, gross margin, sessions and add-to-cart behavior from GA4, spend and ROAS from every connected ad platform, and marketplace sales from Amazon.
Is the data live?
Yes. Once a source is connected, Claude (or ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) queries it directly, no manual export or CSV step.
