Running web analytics well means explaining traffic changes, not just reporting them. GA4’s interface is good at answering “what happened,” much worse at “why.” Traffic dropped 15% last week. Was that seasonality, a drop in rankings, a paused ad campaign, or a tracking bug? Each of those shows up in a different tool, so tracing the cause means opening GA4, Search Console and every ad platform separately and lining up the dates by hand.

Search Console’s own export caps out at 1,000 rows, so any deeper query analysis means multiple exports and filters. GA4 only sees Google Ads spend if the accounts are linked, so every other platform still needs pulling in separately. GA4 shows overall traffic, but explaining a change in it means checking each channel separately: the ad platforms for paid, Search Console for organic, each one covering only its own channel. Connecting your web analytics data to your AI assistant with Windsor: 2 steps

  • Google Search Console, for organic visibility in the same view
